Motherland is a hymn to that region's sweet, watery earth, its people and customs, and the author's deep, vivid memories. This book is a treasure.
Lynn Hoggard is Professor of English, French, and Humanities at Midwestern State University. She is the author of Married to Dance: The Story of Irina and Frank Pal and translator of Tent Posts, a translation of Henri Michaux's prose poems, Poteaux d'angle.
I can recommend this book to all who love the subject. Here are the pros and cons.
Pros: it does give several detox diet options and explain the diets and how they are used. As a nice touch, it goes further to let us see what happened to the dogs and handlers after the war.. Sandy and Mark are two great characters who make a choice that will change their lives. The book reminded me of some of my favorite "anarchic" novels of the '50s and '60s-"Lucky Jim," "The End of the Road," even "The Crying of Lot 49." Sagoe, the journalist character, has a fascinating and scatalogical philosophy of life that parodies French existentialism very cleverly. An awesome resourceful ADD/ADHD website. Amazon lists a thousand of them, while half of Amazon's top twenty are adult coloring books. More than honorific, Jack Bergstrand upholds the same high standards of research, insight and vision that Peter Drucker provided. Ningún cuento o historia o inversión de JLB me deja indiferen
